Learn how to become more productive and do more in less time.
What it's a new month already! Have you ever felt like you are running out of time?
And if you're anything like me you wonder where has the time gone, or you look and think I've got so much to do, or is that only me that does that? Well, It's something that I've been saying a lot lately so I figured I needed to take a conscious look at where I was spending my time and how I can redress it to make sure that I am spending the most precious commodity I have even more wisely...
Because the truth is most of us wish there were more hours in the day right.. but be honest with yourself – even if you had more hours, would you just waste them away? Here's the truth if you ask any successful entrepreneur they’ll tell you that it’s not the number of hours you have, but how you use them and I totally agree.
So my conclusion is this, one of the best skills we can all learn as women in business and life is learning and practicing effective time management techniques, and here’s why, because you can definitely get more done and also have more time to relax wouldn't you agree.
So here's my 1 tip today to help you do more with less time too that I’ve found really helpful in my world as I started practicing this more and it's simply this.
Aim to Prioritize Better.
This is all about narrowing down everything you have to do to just three to five manageable tasks. I had an overhaul and tidy up in my business this last month or so and it has worked wonders.If you want to try this too, what I've found works best is to put my tasks in order from most to least important so that you’re focusing on what’s essential.
What happened when I did this and reflected, it eliminated my nonessential, time-wasting activities like checking my phone scrolling, and really not staying to the task. And I am a very organized person but I'm not perfect and it is easy to get distracted as well. So why not try it for yourself and let me know how you get on I'd love to hear your wins.
Here is my super bonus tip for you too when you do this as well it will show you exactly what's happening and that is:
Perform a Time Audit.
Keep track of how you spend your time each day with a timer, I use my MAC audio clock and it tells me every hour and actually makes a big difference to my productivity. i work with my sister in our home office and I look at her and laugh and we go w=so what have you achieved this last hour...And if you want to take it one step further you could also write down what you actually did in that hour.. and share your results.
Because when you do this, you are building an emerging picture of what you are actually spending your time doing. Trust me it works. Here's the thing will you be surprised at where you might be wasting time! Food for thought.
